I cry about facial features and bone structures of middle-age British actors. I love films and I love TV shows.

Marilyn Monroe in Los Angeles testifying to the court against Jerry Kaupman and Morie Kaplen who used her name to sell nude photos by mail. Marilyn arrived directly from the studio shooting of ‘Niagara’, with studio make-up and in her Niagara dress. June 25, 1952

In 1956, Jackie Gleason had his 40th birthday party at his favorite New York bar. Audrey Meadows, Marilyn, and Joe DiMaggio, among others attended. Some of the more exuberant males attempted to hoist Marilyn onto a wooden trestle table. The attempt was not too successful as it gave Marilyn an embarrassing problem which required her to retreat to the ladies’ room.

“Marilyn swept in wearing that molded-to-the-body black dress with spaghetti shoulder straps, and she looked most fetching, but she had a problem.   In that wispy little girl voice, she exhaled, ‘Ladies, I wonder if you could help me. I seem to have gotten a splinter in my ass.’   Proving her point, she upped her skirt, and I will give testimony that she certainly did have a splinter in her ass.”    - Love, Alice by Audrey Meadows
